This innovative device will fit over any standard 2 7/8″ pedestal and it instantly raises your seat by six inches! providing a practical solution for your pedestal for boat seat. Our pedestal extender is extremely easy to install – in fact, you don't even need tools to do it. Simply pop off your helm seat, slide on the pedestal extender, tighten the nut on the side for a snug fit and then slip your helm seat back on. Keep in mind, our pedestal extenders still allow you to enjoy your seat slide and footrests too!

Fit & Compatibility Guide — Measure Before You Order

The HR-1 is precision-fitted to a standard marine pedestal. Taking one measurement before ordering ensures a perfect, tool-free install.

Step 1 — Measure Your Pedestal Outside Diameter

Using a caliper or tape measure, wrap around the outside of your pedestal tube and divide by π (3.14), or measure directly across the top of the tube.

Important: If your measurement falls outside the 2 7/8" standard, the HR-1 will not seat securely. Contact us before ordering and we'll help identify the right solution.

Step 2 — Confirm the Height Change Works for Your Setup

The HR-1 extender body measures 4" in diameter × 4" tall and adds exactly 6 inches of seat height. Before ordering, verify:

• Footrest height — A 6" seat rise typically requires a matching footrest adjustment. Our Aluminum Helm Seat Footrest is designed for exactly this pairing.
• Deck plate clearance — Confirm your deck plate diameter accommodates the 4" extender base without obstruction.
• Overhead clearance — Measure headroom above your current seat position; a 6" rise should remain comfortable under hardtops or T-tops.

Step 3 — Tool-Free Installation

1. Remove your helm seat from the pedestal top.
2. Slide the HR-1 extender down over the pedestal tube — it seats snugly over the 2 7/8" OD.
3. Hand-tighten the locking nut on the side until firm.
4. Reinstall your helm seat on top of the extender.
5. Confirm seat slide and swivel function freely.
