Saluting Cannons

YE OLDe CANNON MAKER..... In the tradition of naval design, third generation L. Francis Hereshoff built thirteen yachting cannons. Ten of these accompanied the boats he designed and built, and three were privately commissioned to be built for:
Harry E. Noyes, TIOGAS original owner
J. Bedford, Naval Architect
Bruce Blackman, Jeweler

In 1967 L. Francis Herreshoff authorized R. Berkeley George of Madison. Ct. to continue building the cannons, and to date, George has build over 600. These model ship cannons are carefully proportioned copies of the ships cannons used by the navies of France, England, English colonies, and the United States of American after its independence. Little variation of these classic (1750 - 1865) cannons proportions has taken place. Herreshoff's standards and guidelines are strictly adhered  to.
